SUMMARY:ASML Lunch Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Semiconductor industry trends\, Key innovations in Lithography \nPresenters: Martin Verhoeven\, Peter Wardenier (ASML System Engineering\, Veldhoven NL) \nOver the past 60 years\, the semiconductor industry has relentlessly followed Moore’s law in creating ever smaller microchips. Lithography has played a pivotal role in shrinking the size of critical circuit features\, albeit litho challenges have become very demanding. \nThe risks related to potential lithography complexity and equipment affordability have spurred opinion fearing the end of Moore’s law. Martin and Peter will discuss the main trends in the semicon industry and highlight key innovations in ASML Lithography to keep “Moore” alive and kicking. \nRegister now using the form below. If you cannot attend the lecture\, please deregister before the 4th of October. Otherwise\, you must pay a no-show fee of 5€. Contact us at external@ieeesbe.nl if you have any questions. SUMMARY:Poster Contest 2026
DESCRIPTION:Agenda of the Poster Contest \n13:30 – 14:00 : Setting up                                             (Flux Vide floor 1) \n14:00 – 17:00 : Pitch & Poster round                            (Flux Vide floor 1) \n17:30 – 18:30 : Guest Lecture Prof. Norbert Noury     (Flux 1.02) \n18:30 – 19:00 : Awards and drink \nVisitors are welcome during the contest\, so invite your colleagues to come by. \nIn this competition all researchers from bachelor to post-doc are invited to present their research with up to 3 minute pitch and a poster. \nThe posters and pitches are competing in 3 separate categories: \n\nBachelor students\nMaster students\nPhD students and Post-doc\n\nEach category has its own first\, second and third place\, which will be awarded with 200€\, 100€ and 50€ respectively. \nAfter the pitch round prof. Norbert Noury will give a guest lecture with topic From connected medical sensors to ubiquitous health\ndevices.\n\nThe revolution of connected objects – Internet of Things – opens the way to the continuous collection of innumerable information in the subject’s environment\, including his or her health and comfort parameters\, thus allowing the “personalization” of health – pHealth.\nBut it is not only about connecting medical devices but also requires to revisit the techniques of signal capture. This presentation will demonstrate through examples of embedded measurement of\nphysiological parameters – thermal measurements\, blood pressure\, actimetry – the challenges of research and development of these connected objects in health.  \nYou can submit your abstract and poster (PDF\, A3) here\, until the 11th of June. We will print the poster on A3 format and compile everyone’s abstracts in a booklet showcasing the great work the students in the EE department have done. \nIf you want to just attend then just sign up here and no need to fill in Microsoft form. \nNote: Please indicate if you are a Bachelor\, Master\, PhD or Post-doc on your poster. \nNote: Please refrain from presenting confidential information; the Poster Contest is open to all students and employees of the department of EE.
